Our Family's Heritage

By Rona on Apr 24, 2007

A short article by Rowena Case and how having a baby brings to mind the importance of perserving the past.

Hi, this is my first time writing in the family’s website but I know it won’t be the first time that you’ve heard of me. My name is Rowena (“Ro” or “Rona” for short) and I’m Brian J.’s wife. I’m so excited to be part of this family and this fantastic way of staying in touch. Family is very important to me and even more so as BJ and I await the birth of our first child (due date: June 28). At our 20 week ultrasound we found out we were having a girl and we’ve named her Lydia Joy. To pass the time I’ve been working on a scrapbook highlighting my relationship with BJ. It truly is a “scrap-book” because we save bits and pieces of paper and memorabilia over the years. Of the things that BJ has saved, I’ve uncovered the last cards that his grandmother, Ella Case, wrote to him. I was thrilled to have them since I too have lost my grandmother and have kept her last letters to me. Immediately I worked on a page dedicated just to her. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to meet Ella so I would love to have more information about her. I hope that through my scrapbooking, Lydia and generations after will all enjoy our family's heritage.
